A K Gopalan (1904-1977)
Ayillath Kuttiari was born on 1904 in Kannur.
He was the founder of Indian Coffee House.
First Coffee house in Kerala was started at Trichur.
He led the Pattini Jadha in 1936 from Kannur to Madras. 32 persons were participated.
He is popularly known as A K G.
He known as the “Crusader of the down trodden”.
He was the Volunteer Captain of Guruvayur Satyagraha (1931).
In 1939 he joined to Communist party.
He was the First opposition leader in Loksabha. His autobiography is Ente Jeevithakadha.
Susheela Gopalan (Former minister of Kerala) was the wife of AKG.
He died in 1977 March 22. His Tomb is at Payyambalam beach.
The film AKG was directed by Shaji N Karun.
